For Kids
June 24th - august 4th 9am-1pm
Ages 8-11
Campers will learn about the natural world around them. Activities include nature walks, science experiments, nature-based crafts, and occasional gardening. We will emphasize reducing our footprint by using natural, recycled and upcycled materials for our art making projects.
Artventures
Artventures is an after-school arts mentorship program for students in 2nd through 6th Grade, hosted at Intersect Arts Center. Teaming up with 2 to 3 other students, youth will be matched with an adult Artist Mentor in areas such as painting, drawing, ceramics, fashion, sculpture, and photography.
Two days a week (either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs) from 3:30-5:00pm, Artist Mentors will lead young artists through explorations of their focus area to help them discover their own unique and creative voice! The Artist Mentor will also serve as a support for young artists by offering homework help, a listening ear, and serving as a role model for children to creatively express themselves.
For Teens
Teen Apprentice Program
The Teen Apprenticeship Program is a space in which youth can explore ideas through the arts, develop conflict resolution skills, professionalism, and strong relationships with peers and mentors. Students will be matched with a mentor in a discipline of their choosing: music, woodworking/sculpture, ceramics, graphic design painting/drawing, photography/video, creative writing.
The Teen Apprenticeship Program will serve 18 students, ages 13-19, who will attend Intersect for a total of 10 hours per week, June 3 - August 2, at Intersect Arts Center.
The program is a 2 month long commitment during the summer through the months of June and July. This diverse group meets at Intersect throughout the week to work with art professionals, investigate current exhibitions, make art, plan an art exhibition and support each other on a journey of self-discovery.
